The American army participated in the Great War during the last two years of the conflict. As soon as it arrived in France, it experienced the harshest fighting, with the unprecedented participation of the 93rd Infantry Division, which included African-American soldiers who were exceptionally integrated as combatants under French command. The basic uniform in this pack was called “Overseas”… but soon, the realities of war brought some modifications to it (notably the use of woolen puttees instead of cloth leggings – like the French troops, and a comfortable trench coat).
